RealMotion
RealMotion is the solution leverages mobility insights of mobile data for public health which was introduced to the governments to combat COVID-19 pandemic. It saved lives by efficiently assisting government authorities and public health experts to understand and control the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
Origin (It all started when...)
The project was initiated by the requests of the governments, which suffered from the spread of Coronavirus and lacked of a system to effectively monitor and contain the pandemic. Via geolocation of mobile devices, the moving patterns and historical movement can be detected and help government to manage pandemic by proactive approaches, such as infection footprint, mass monitoring and close contact tracing, etc.
My Role

Defined and clarified SOW to development team, managed task prioritization, planned WBS schedule, created Kanban board, oversaw data flow design and write specification.

Held daily standup meetings, implemented changes, got client acceptance, monitored status for performance.
Evolution
The main use cases and scenarios were first confirmed with customers, including quarantine compliance tracking, curfew compliance, infection movement, mass monitoring and unique identification of people. Based on their pain points and the capabilities of geolocation data, we converted the use cases into user story and created UI flow to specify user behavior for each scenario.
To keep the balance of system performance and accuracy of the mobility insights, we created a dedicated data flow and optimized movement pattern algorithm with RD leaders. It took us less than 3 months from concept, development to commercial deployment to live network.

The solution was successfully deployed in 4 countries to help local government effectively manage pandemics.

Built strong liaison with local authorities to expand business by leveraging mobility data in other scenarios. e.g. crowd management for special event, traffic management for urban commuting, etc.
